Recientes decisiones administrativas y judiciales han ampliado las responsabilidades laborales de las empresas antes y después de ocurrido un accidente de trabajo, sea a su personal directo como al personal de sus contratistas. Las sanciones por incumplir estas responsabilidades van desde las multas hasta el cierre temporal del centro de trabajo, además de la eventual indemnización por daños y de la imputación penal contra el gerente general de la empresa.
